Music

As usual, we have a great line up of bands all weekend… from all over the world!

Thursday night will kick things off with the town of Decatur’s open cruise, Cruisin’ Eldo, which they moved just to welcome the Pileup. This cruise has been a local tradition since the 1950s. Get all the details here. We’ll be there.

The Friday and Saturday Night parties will be at Snappers, a nice bar that used to be an opera house in the 1800s! Snappers is 15 minutes north of Progress City in the town of Clinton, IL. Yes, 15 minutes! Ignore MapQuest. We tested it! Watch your speed, especially as you passs through Maroa, IL!

Saturday at the Pileup, we’ll have 3 more great bands!

Friday Night Pre-Show Party!

Snappers
304 South Side Square
Clinton, IL
(217) 935-8515

The folks at Snappers have planned a special buffet for the show. The buffet will be open each night from 6 PM – 9 PM for $10. The food there is very good, and will be the same both nights. There won’t be any table service that night, just the buffet.

9:00pm; $5

Hot Rod Hucksters(Chicago/Joliet, IL)

Featuring members of the Chrome Czars and Blacktop Barons! These guys kicked rockabilly in the pants and it landed somewhere between Eddie Cochran and the Cramps. They just finished recording new material at Sun Studios in Memphis!

The Del Moroccos (Chicago)

This 8 piece band put on an awesome show full of dirty rock and 60’s R&B with girl group vocals. Knock the Ray-ettes and Link Wray together, with a blast of garage, a hit of late ’50s raw rock n’ roll and that Phil Spector Wall of Sound and you get a raucous, mean mix of “’50s garage”. The band includes members of rockabilly, surf, ska, jazz and R & B bands including Mighty Blue Kings, Jimmy Sutton’s Four Charms, Deals Gone Bad, Cave Catt Sammy, The Stranger, Kevin O’Donnell’s Quality 6, Reluctant Aquanauts and The Stacks. Killer!

Originally from Portugal, but now based in the USA, Miss Ruby Ann has been belting out some great traditional rockabilly all over the world and she’s in high-demand. Watch her set and you’ll know why!

Miss Mary Ann & the Ragtime Wranglers (The Netherlands!)

Miss Mary Ann of the Ranch Girls teamed up with the Ragtime Wranglers for some great traditional rockabilly all the way from the Netherlands! We were lucky enough to snag them on a rare US tour, so don’t miss ‘em!
